2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Management Change Follows Lukewarm Response
The new appointee takes on the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' disappointing initial reveal last fall.
Recently, the company's top executive a key figure notified employees about this strategic move through an official communication, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a clearer vision.
Ismailer noted that the team is now overhauling the project with a refreshed vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.
Trend of Strategic Hires
The news follows a similar move taken by the publisher in August, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Our confidence in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To boost the outstanding advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce Ben Brinkman as the latest Studio Head of the team. After a period of talks, he officially joins us on the specified date.
His management and background in the competitive gaming field is extensive, having spent the past decade and a half producing and leading some of the most recognizable series in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and most recently, Apex Legends.
