The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
